Withdrawal from the contract

You may withdraw, without giving any reason, from any order placed online at the ebikeshop.hu online store within 14 days of receiving the product. Below you will find how, under what conditions, and what process to expect from us.

⚠️ What does this right apply to?

This 14-day right of withdrawal applies exclusively to purchases made online (via the internet) through the ebikeshop.hu online store.

There is no 14-day right of withdrawal for purchases made in physical specialist stores. If you purchased in person at any of the Ebringa specialist stores or any of our resellers, you may assert your rights under the general rules of the Hungarian Civil Code (in case of defective performance: statutory guarantee, commercial warranty). In such cases, please submit your complaint directly to the store where you made the purchase.

Who is entitled to the right of withdrawal?

Under Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014. (II. 26.), you are entitled to the 14-day right of withdrawal if the following conditions are met cumulatively:

  • You purchased as a private individual (in the capacity of a consumer) — that is, not within the scope of your profession, self-employed occupation or business activity.
  • You concluded the contract online (through the web store) — that is, not in person, in a business premises.
  • You notify Ebringa Zrt. of your intention to withdraw within 14 days of receiving the product.

The 14-day deadline begins on the day you receive the product. If you received multiple products within one order, the deadline is calculated from the receipt of the last product.

When is the right of withdrawal not available?

Section 29 of Government Decree 45/2014. excludes or restricts the right of withdrawal in several cases. Among the products sold in our online store, the most important are:

  • Custom-configured, personalised product (e.g. an individually assembled e-bike, a component fitted to individual measurements) — manufactured at the consumer's express request, according to your needs, or specifically personalised for you.
  • Sealed product that, for reasons of health protection or hygiene, cannot be returned after the packaging has been opened (e.g. opened helmet liner, underwear).
  • Business (B2B) purchase: if you ordered as a business customer with a VAT number, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to you. Businesses may assert claims under the general rules of the Civil Code.

If you are uncertain whether the product you purchased is eligible for withdrawal, please contact our customer service before submitting your declaration.

The withdrawal process

  1. Complete the online withdrawal declaration below and click the "Confirm withdrawal" button.
  2. Within a few minutes, we will send you an acknowledgement of receipt by email, containing the full content of the withdrawal and the date and time of submission. This email constitutes a durable medium — please retain it for reference.
  3. Within 14 days of the withdrawal date, return the product to the returns address below. The cost of return — in the absence of a different provision in the General Terms and Conditions — is borne by you.
  4. Following the return of the product (or undeniable proof of dispatch), we will refund the full purchase price within 14 days of the notification of withdrawal at the latest — using the same payment method you originally used.
  5. In the case of card payment, the refund will be made to the card; for bank transfer or cash on delivery, to the bank account number you have provided. The use of any other payment method requires your express written consent, and no additional cost will be charged to you.

Packages sent with cash on delivery cannot be accepted.

The online withdrawal declaration

Completing the declaration takes only a few minutes. The "Customer type" question immediately indicates if the purchase does not fall within the scope of the right of withdrawal (e.g. purchase by a business). For partial withdrawal you will find a separate field — here you can indicate which product(s) you wish to withdraw from, if within the order you only want to return certain items.

What happens with the returned product?

Please ensure the product remains in good condition. Under Section 25 of Government Decree 45/2014., you are liable for any diminished value resulting from use exceeding what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product.

For the ebikeshop.hu product range — especially e-bikes and accessories — this means in practice:

  • Trying out the new e-bike (sitting on it, checking the settings, a short test indoors or a brief test ride) falls within the scope of permitted testing.
  • Longer use (over several kilometres), test rides in mud or rain, brake pad break-in, paint damage, tyre or chain wear may cause depreciation, the extent of which we determine based on the condition of the returned product, and which we deduct from the refundable purchase price.
  • Preserving the original packaging and accompanying documentation (user manual, invoice, warranty certificate, keys, etc.) and returning them together with the product helps ensure a fast refund without deductions.

The extent of the depreciation will be communicated to you in every case by our customer service before we determine the refund amount.

Refund — deadlines and method

  • We will refund the purchase price within 14 days of the notification of withdrawal at the latest.
  • The refund will be made using the same payment method that was originally used. For card payment, to the card; for bank transfer and cash on delivery, to the bank account number you have provided.
  • We may withhold the refund of the purchase price until we have received the product back, or until you have undeniably proven that you have returned it (whichever is the earlier of the two) — Section 23(4) of Decree 45/2014.
  • If you withdraw from the entire order, we will also refund the delivery cost, except for any additional cost arising from your specific request for a delivery method different from the least expensive standard method.
  • In the case of partial withdrawal we will refund the proportional purchase price of the returned product(s), as well as the proportional share of the delivery cost.

You can also withdraw in other ways — alternative withdrawal channels

Under Section 22(1) of Government Decree 45/2014., in addition to the online withdrawal function, you may also exercise your right of withdrawal in the following ways:

  • a) By completing the downloadable declaration template: Withdrawal declaration template — download (the template text from Annex 2 of the Decree). Send the completed declaration back to us by post or electronically.
  • b) By any unambiguous declaration: by email to [email protected], or by postal letter to the following address:

Send the written withdrawal declaration to the company's registered office, but send the product itself to the returns address in Törökbálint indicated above.

The online withdrawal function is the fastest and most convenient method — we recommend using it.

Frequently asked questions

From when is the 14-day deadline calculated? From the day of receipt of the product. If you received multiple products within one order, from the receipt of the last product.

Am I still entitled to withdraw on the 14th day? Yes. The withdrawal is valid if you send the declaration within 14 days — it is not necessary for it to reach us on the same day. If you submit the online declaration at 23:59 on the 14th day, it is valid.

When will I get my money back? Within 14 days of the notification of withdrawal, using the same payment method originally used. However, we may withhold payment until we have received the product back or you have proven the return.

I purchased as a business — does the right of withdrawal apply to me? No. The 14-day right of withdrawal applies exclusively to consumer (i.e. private individual) purchases. For businesses, the general contractual rules of the Civil Code apply.

I purchased at the Ebringa specialist store — can I withdraw using this form? No. The 14-day right of withdrawal applies exclusively to contracts concluded online (via the internet). It does not apply to products purchased in a physical store. In case of a complaint, please contact the specialist store where you purchased directly.

I only want to return one of the products — is this possible? Yes. In the declaration, mark "partial withdrawal" and list the names or SKUs of the products to be returned. In this case, we will refund the proportional purchase price of the relevant product(s).

I originally paid by card — do I need to provide a bank account number? No. For card payments, by law we must process the refund to the card. The bank account number field only needs to be completed by customers who chose cash on delivery or bank transfer as their payment method.

What is the "durable medium" mentioned at the confirmation? A device that enables the information addressed to you to be subsequently retrieved in unchanged form — for example, the email we send you with the acknowledgement of receipt. Please retain this email.
