About the manufacturer:

The history of Hercules dates back to 1886. The company's founder, Carl Marschütz, was driven by one goal: a bicycle for everyone. Driven by this, at the age of 22 he founded Velocipedfabrik Marschütz & Co in Nuremberg, Germany's second bicycle factory.
Known for their quality and robust frames, the bicycles quickly earned themselves the nickname Hercules, as they were as strong and enduring as the Greek mythological hero. Three years later, with 250 employees, they were producing 6,500 bicycles per year. Hercules is still one of the best-known and most popular bicycle brands on the German market. In more than 125 years, it has remained as fresh and youthful as the people who ride the factory's bicycles. Hercules bicycles are still manufactured in Germany and assembled in Tószeg, Hungary, under German quality control.
